Youngstown lifts boil-water advisory for some West Side areas

YOUNGSTOWN — The city lifted a boil-water advisory today for portions of the West Side that had a waterline failure a few days ago.

The line has been repaired after a Thursday break on South Meridian Road between Bears Den Road and Freemont Avenue.

Tests have been done and no contaminants were found. The water is considered to be safe, according to Dan Blakely, an engineering assistant at the city’s water department.
