AUCTIONS
Immaculate Heart of Mary Social Concerns Committee will have a Quarter Auction fundraiser Oct. 22 in the IHM Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd,, Austintown. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction will start at 7. Tickets are $10 per person and include an auction paddle, homemade desserts, coffee, pop and water. Bidding will be on a variety of gift baskets and gift cards for adults and kids. Take quarters, snacks and beverages. Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, will be the location of a quarter auction benefit for the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for cancer research on Thursday. Autographed Ohio State sports memorabilia will be among various prizes offered at the “Buckeyes Blast Cancer” event. It also will benefit Camp Quality Ohio, which provides a summer camping experience and year-round support for children with cancer. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6. Tickets are $5 and include a soft drink, snack, a bidding paddle and a door prize ticket. There will be more than 100 prizes, gift baskets, and door prizes. Pizza slices will cost $1. Items to be raffled include a variety of general gifts as well as many OSU autographed prizes, signed by more than 20 players and coaches, including Meyer, Cardale Jones, Archie Griffin and AJ Hawk. Austintown Alumni Association is offering a raffle to raise money for its scholarship fund. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or six for $5. Raffle winners will be chosen at the Austintown Fitch Hall of Fame football game at Falcon Stadium on Friday. First prize is $500; second, $200 in gift certificates from local businesses; and third, a dinner for two at Rachel’s Restaurant and at The Manor. Profits will support the association’s scholarship fund, which awarded $6,000 to Fitch seniors Class of 2016.
