I-80 crash closes eastbound lane today

A Pennsylvania driver of semi tractor-trailer has been cited after a crash on Interstate 80 here today.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol cited Paul Hoffman, Jr., 27, of Muncy, Pa. for failure to control after his semi veered off the road, onto the shoulder of eastbound I-80 at about 12:45 p.m. Hoffman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.

The right eastbound lane was closed for about six hours due to large metal pipes that had fallen from the overturned trailer. The Ohio Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control at the scene.

The OSHP continues to investigate.
