NEW WILMINGTON, PA

Westminster College will host a NeighborFood Picnic from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the quad on campus.

“A shorter distance from farm to fork” is the focus for this season’s campus dining experience. During this event, Sodexo is extending its commitment to locally sourced, fresh, clean foods with NeighborFood.

Sodexo will serve grilled burgers, chicken, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads, fresh fruit, and ice cream sandwiches. Live music, games and prizes will be available. Meal swipes will be accepted as a form of payment.

New Wilmington Fresh Marketplace also will be open. This farmer’s market features a wide variety of local fresh produce.

Duff Dining Hall is the rain location.

Route 19 bridge

MERCER, Pa.

Plans for replacement in 2018 of the state Route 19 bridge over Munnell Run in Mercer Borough and Cool Spring Township, and the detours associated with that project, will be publicly presented at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Mercer Borough Building, 145 N. Pitt St., the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced.

Fish sale pickup

CORTLAND

The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual fall fish sale pick-up will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mosquito Lake parking area off West Main Street. White amurs (also known as grass carp), koi, and minnows were sold. White amur are used for pond vegetation control; minnows are often stocked in the fall to provide food for larger fish during the winter. Pond owners in Pennsylvania must obtain a permit from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and provide a copy for review at pickup.
