“Girl in the Box” (8 p.m., Lifetime): Looking to veg out with some lighthearted weekend fare? “Girl in the Box” isn’t it. The film focuses on a female hitchhiker who is abducted by a couple, held captive and tortured.

“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): The Mahoning Valley Cancer Coalition will have its annual informational breakfast workshop on “Understanding Cancer and Lupus.” June Ewing and Mary Halfacre will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the event.

Next, Ramona Jones of A Time for Recovery Outreach will discuss the monthly meeting and workshop for women age 14 and up to handle domestic violence, self-esteem issues and overall wellness.

Finally, award-winning entrepreneur Carmella Williams will discuss her annual hair show at Youngstown State University for women with natural hair.
