sPECIAL services 9/11 anniversary


Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., Canfield: The 15th anniversary of the 2001 attacks will be remembered as part of an outdoor service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the gazebo on the Green, Routes 46 and 224. Worship is open to the public; participants should bring lawn chairs or blankets. If weather is inclement, the service will be in the church sanctuary.

Grove City College: A vesper service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Harbison Chapel. College President Paul J. McNulty will speak; at the time, he was principal associate deputy attorney general in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. The event is free and open to the public.

St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown: Valley police and firefighters and families are invited to a Mass at 4 p.m. Sunday to honor men and women in uniform. It is open to all denominations. Police and firefighters should assemble in the parish center at 3:40 p.m. A processional will be at 3:50. Refreshments follow.

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave., Hermitage: Service of prayer and anointing for healing is set at 11 a.m. Sunday.
