The Kidney Group earns recognition from foundation

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation recently presented a plaque to the Kidney Group in recognition of its Diamond Sponsorship to fund grants the foundation gives local patients. Members of the ERKF and Kidney Group present for the award included Dr. Michael Koprucki, left, Dr. Patrick Martinucci, Dr. Kathleen Padgitt, ERKF President of the Board Meghan Hiland, Dr. Nathaniel Doe, Dr. Hasit Pandya, Dr. Sherif Soliman, Dr. Christopher Enoch and Dr. Anup Bains. Drs. Andra Shaer and Leonidas Vassilaros also are foundation members. The foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission to support local renal and kidney transplant patients with transportation and medication grants, and to raise awareness and education in the community about kidney disease. The foundation is not associated with the American Kidney Foundation or any government agency, and receives money only from community contributions. It is hosting its sixth annual Kidney Awareness Run/Walk and Renal Family Picnic at 9 a.m. Sept. 25 at the Canfield Fairgrounds. There will be a 50-50 drawing, basket auction, prizes, a free continental breakfast during registration and a free lunch following the walk/run. Donations are tax-deductible. Registration is $25.
