2 revived by Narcan

EAST LIVERPOOL

Two unconscious adults in the front seat of a car had to be revived by Narcan, as a 4-year-old looked on in the back seat.

It happened Wednesday on Prospect Street in East Liverpool near a school bus stop, according to a report by 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

A police officer says he witnessed a dark Ford Explorer driving erratically. As a school bus was discharging students, the vehicle in question began to brake hard and skidded to a stop.

The officer made contact with the driver who was identified as James Lee Acord, 47. According to the police report, his head was bobbing back and forth, and his speech was difficult to understand.

Acord said he was taking his female passenger, Rhonda Pasek, 50, to the hospital.

Both adults face charges of endangering children and other charges.

Dress-code policy

YOUNGSTOWN

Krish Mohip, CEO of Youngstown City Schools, is extending the waiver of the district’s dress-code policy for all students until Sept. 30.

That means all students can continue to wear approved clothes to school through the end of the month. Students were given letters to take home to their families explaining the extension.

Mohip plans to have a community meeting before Sept. 30 to further discuss and clarify the dress-code policy with families and other community stakeholders.

The district had announced it was waiving the dress-code policy for students the first three weeks of the school year, which would have ended Friday and required students to follow the policy Monday.
