Vice cops find $5,490 in pair of shoes

YOUNGSTOWN — Vice squad and Community Police Unit officers Thursday found $5,490 cash inside a pair of shoes while serving a search warrant about 5:25 p.m. investigating drug activity at a 3524 Hillman St. home.

Reports said officers saw Christopher Garrett, 28, go in the home, come outside and get in a car and drive away. He was pulled over in the 400 block of West Ravenwood Avenue and charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found two pills and a scale in the home which Garrett listed as his address.

Also found in the home was a security system, reports said.
