NFL opener: Broncos 21, Panthers 20

DENVER — The Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers again.

Seven months after beating Cam Newton and the Panthers in the Super Bowl, the Broncos rallied to win another thriller.

Denver trailed 17-7 entering the fourth quarter, but rallied to take a 21-20 lead and survived a Carolina drove.

Panthers kicker Graham Gano missed wide left from 50 yards with a chance to win it in the closing seconds after Newton drove Carolina into field goal range.
