DeVito eyes Broadway bow early next year

NEW YORK

Danny DeVito will make his Broadway debut next year as a wily furniture dealer in Arthur Miller’s “The Price.”

The Roundabout Theatre Company said Thursday the Emmy Award-winner from “Taxi” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will star alongside John Turturro, Tony Shalhoub and Jessica Hecht. Performances begin Feb. 16 at the American Airlines Theatre.

DeVito began his career in off-Broadway shows, including Shakespeare in the Park.

In 2012, he starred with Richard Griffiths in a West End production of Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys.”

In “The Price,” an embittered New York City police officer feels that life has passed him by while he took care of his now dead father. He and his estranged brother, who left to become a successful doctor, must reunite to sell off dad’s possessions.

‘Full House’ home for rent for high price

SAN FRANCISCO

The San Francisco home featured in television’s “Full House” is available to rent for $13,950 a month.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the 1883 villa was put on the market in May with a $4.15 million price tag, but it didn’t sell.

The home’s exterior, then painted white, was used as the Tanner family’s residence in the original show. Inside scenes were filmed on a set in Burbank, Calif.

The shots were used again in the recent “Fuller House” reboot of the show on Netflix, the newspaper reported.

The home is listed at 2,985 square feet and has three bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms.

Manganiello to star as Deathstroke in new Batman film

LOS ANGELES

Joe Manganiello is sharpening his swords to take on Ben Affleck’s Batman as the supervillain Deathstroke. The “Magic Mike” and “True Blood” vet will appear in Affleck’s stand-alone “Batman” film as the DC Comics character.

Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer, confirmed the casting to the Wall Street Journal in an article published Thursday.

Manganiello then tweeted “it’s on.”

Affleck last month teased test footage of Deathstroke on Twitter, leading to a flurry of speculation online about when and where Batman might duel the famed villain.

Johns, who is co-writing “Batman” with Affleck, declined to comment on whether Deathstroke would appear in Zack Snyder’s “Justice League,” which is currently in production.

Affleck’s “Batman” reboot does not have a release date.
