Mohip extends waiver of student dress-code policy

YOUNGSTOWN — Krish Mohip, CEO of Youngstown City Schools, is extending the waiver of the district’s dress-code policy for all students until Sept. 30.

That means all students can continue to wear approved clothes to school through the end of the month. Students were given letters to take home to their families explaining the extension.

Mohip plans to have a community meeting before Sept. 30 to further discuss and clarify the dress-code policy with families and other community stakeholders.

The district had announced it was waiving the dress-code policy for students the first three weeks of the school year, which would have ended today and required students to follow the policy Monday.
