Youngstown issues boil-water notice for West Side customers

YOUNGSTOWN — The city had a large waterline failure on South Meridian Road today that affected its water customers on the West Side.

Because of the low pressure that resulted, the water department is asking certain customers to boil their water for drinking and cooking until further notice. A roiling boil for one minute is adequate, according to the water department.

The alert is for residents on Wilshire Drive between Bears Den Road and Quentin Drive; on South Meridian Road between Burkey and Decamp roads; and on Freemont Avenue, and Sharlene and Quentin drives.
