She has served United Methodist Community Center for 35 years. Pasley became executive director in July 2009, and had previously served as assistant director.

During her tenure at UMCC, Pasley has worked in all the programs and developed many innovative programs.

Early in her employment, she was the catalyst for bringing the program of children to visit their incarcerated mothers to area jails.

She then was program director at Pearl Street Mission in Youngstown, where she started the Stop-Lift Program through the courts.

During the next part of her ministry, she became the assistant director at Pearl Street Mission. The center moved to East Boardman Street in Youngstown in July 2009 and then to 2401 Belmont Ave. in mid-2015.

Pasley started various programs, including the health program through the hospitals, and the Building Individual Life Lessons and Getting Ahead in Life programs for schoolchildren.

Pasley worked to get financial aid for the veterans in Mahoning and Trumbull counties and another ministry was working with homeless families and senior citizens.

Sponsorships are available for UMCC programming as a “Legacy for Juanita.” These are $50, silver; $100, gold; $250, diamond; and $500, platinum.
