Campbell police chief placed on paid administrative leave
CAMPBELL — Mayor Nick Phillips has placed police Chief Drew Rauzan on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
An outside agency will conduct the investigation, Phillips said. The mayor declined to specify which agency or to comment further on the nature of the allegations.
Lt. Kevin Sferra will serve as acting police chief in Rauzan's absence.
Rauzan became Campbell's full-time police chief in November 2013. He first joined the department in 1998.
Rauzan said today Phillips informed him he was being placed on leave Tuesday. He declined to comment further.
