Poland council approves four levies for fall ballot
POLAND — Village council authorized and certified all four tax levies tonight that will appear on the November ballot.
They approved three 5-year renewal tax levies – two current expenses and police district levies.
In addition to the three renewals, a new 2-mill, 5-year additional levy for road and bridge expenses will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot.
The 3.2-mill renewal levy for current expenses generates $176,420 annually, was first approved in 2000, and costs the owner of a $100,000 home $140 a year.
The 2-mill renewal levy for current expenses generates $110,262 annually, was first approved in 2003 and costs the owner of a $100,000 home $70 a year.
The 1-mill renewal levy for village police expenses generates $57,244 annually, was first approved in 2007 and costs the owner of a $100,000 home $35 a year.
The new 2-mill levy for roads and bridges will generate $114,488 annually. It would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $70 if approved.
