AUCTIONS
Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, will be the location of a quarter auction benefit for the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for cancer research on Sept. 15. Autographed Ohio State sports memorabilia will be among various prizes offered at the “Buckeyes Blast Cancer” event. It also will benefit Camp Quality Ohio, which provides a summer camping experience and year-round support for children with cancer. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6. Tickets are $5 and include a soft drink, snack, a bidding paddle and a door prize ticket. There will be more than 100 prizes, gift baskets, and door prizes. Pizza slices will cost $1. BINGO/CARD PARTIES
Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church is sponsoring bingo Sunday and Oct. 2 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista, Youngstown. Doors open at noon and games begin at 2 p.m. They will be the same format as Monday and Wednesday bingos.
CRAFT SHOWS

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., is hosting a craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 12. Vendors are welcome and tables are $10 each. FESTIVALS
Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, will host its seventh annual Fall Festival from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the church outdoor pavilion. The public is invited. In case of rain, it will take place in the fellowship hall. There will be barbecue pulled pork sandwiches, casserole dishes and desserts. Games for children and adults will begin at 4 with dinner served at 5. Steve Moff will organize line and square dancing after dinner.
FLEA MARKETS
Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will sponsor its annual fall flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be 15 booths plus food available inside the church. There will be antiques, Avon, books, some furniture, household items, kerosene heater, bicycle, golf pull carts, lamps, scrapbooking items, small TV, golf clubs, rollerblades, craft items and more. Money raised at the Christian Education table from food sales and table rentals will benefit church education and outreach programs. In case of rain, the event will take place inside the building. FUNDRAISERS
The Cure Starts Now, Northeast Ohio Chapter, is sponsoring a fundraiser for brain cancer research. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 17 at Casseses’ MVR, 401 N. Walnut St., Youngstown. RAFFLES
Austintown Alumni Association is offering a raffle to raise money for its scholarship fund. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or six for $5. Raffle winners will be chosen at the Austintown Fitch Hall of Fame football game at Falcon Stadium on Sept. 16. First prize is $500; second, $200 in gift certificates from local businesses; and third, a dinner for two at Rachel’s Restaurant and at The Manor. Profits will support the association’s scholarship fund, which awarded $6,000 to Fitch seniors Class of 2016. Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 and 17. No early sales. Half off and bag sale day will be Sept. 17. Proceeds will be used for the church choir, Women’s Group and Cancer Relay for Life Team who will serve food during the day. Homemade soup by the bowl and quart will be for sale as well as pie slices and other food items. Other sale items will be kitchen items, toys, furniture, tools, clothes, books and miscellaneous. Jesus the Key Ministries and Men of Faith, the producers of Men’s Rally in the Valley, will host a bus trip to Lancaster, Pa., Dec. 6 and 7.
