Trump is considering a Monday visit to the Canfield Fair, multiple sources say

Staff report

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is considering a Monday visit to the Canfield Fair, multiple sources say.

The logistics of an appearance by Trump aren’t confirmed. Sources say information about a potential visit could put an end to Trump’s appearance there.

Mahoning County Republican Party Chairman Mark Munroe and Trump’s campaign declined to comment specifically to The Vindicator about a potential visit. But Munroe said it “is likely that preparations are going to be made” for a Trump visit. “The rumors are still out there, and there is a good expectation,” he said.

Trump was last in the Mahoning Valley on Aug. 15 for an invitation-only event at Youngstown State University.

Vice President Joe Biden visited the fair Friday after a rally at the United Auto Workers Local 1714 union hall in support of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Monday, Clinton is expected to attend the 11th Congressional District Community Caucus Labor Day Festival in Cleveland.
