TIGHT LID
The big story of the offseason was who would be getting the snaps at quarterback. It turns out that decision was made in secret a few weeks ago when Ricky Davis found out he was going to start.
“It meant the world to me,” Davis said. “Getting to start here is a dream come true. It was a big emotional moment for me and my father. But once I got out there I wasn’t nervous at all. I have a lot of confidence in my offense.”
“Lips were sealed,” Davis said about not letting the quarterback cat out of the bag. “But the way those guys rallied around me was awesome. A lot of my teammates are my friends and those guys really supported me and excited me.”
NOISY NIGHT
Davis called the environment much like a big time college program and was especially impressed with the student section turnout.
“That was the biggest student section I’ve seen at Stambaugh Stadium since I’ve been here. What an atmosphere. It felt like an FBS game. They were behind us and it was exciting.”
