Trumbull coroner: Man had heart attack in Elm Road accident Tuesday

WARREN — The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office has ruled that Anthony A. Cipolla, 73, of Warren and Aliquippa, Pa., died of a heart attack before his car ran into a tree Tuesday morning on Elm Road.

Cipolla, who had a history of heart problems, was ejected from his car when it crashed into a tree at a curve near Clermont Street Northeast, police said.

Witnesses described Cipolla’s car traveling at a high rate of speed leading up to the 9:30 a.m. crash.

The witness said he also saw Cipolla’s car strike the curb a short distance before hitting the tree.
