More than 600 volunteers participate in UW Day of Caring

YOUNGSTOWN — More than 600 volunteers for the 19th Annual United Way Day of Caring were dispatched throughout Youngstown area Friday morning.

Volunteers from organizations, business and schools have been split up into groups to pick up litter, clean abandoned properties and get rid of overgrowth.

Nearly 400 of the volunteers are on the South Side at neighborhoods and business along or near Market Street.
