An Olmsted Falls man has sued a cutlery company, a marketing company, the Canfield Fair and the Canfield Fair Foundation, saying he was severely injured when an unidentified person staffing a cutlery vending booth at the fair “negligently and/or recklessly mishandled the cutlery.”

Alfredo Longo sued Cutco Cutlery Corp., and Vector Marketing Corp., both of the same Olean, N.Y., address, last week in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, saying he was hurt Aug. 31, 2014.

His civil lawsuit seeks more than $50,000 in damages and demands a jury trial.

Longo’s complaint is not specific about his injury.

Andrew Frost, fair board president, said, however, Longo was treated at the fair’s first-aid station, but not taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Cutco and Vector officials and the fair foundation’s statutory agent, Mark R. Fortunato of Poland, could not be reached to comment.
