11:46 p.m.

The Indians can't get a runner on and fall to the Cubs 3-2 in Game 5 of the World Series.

The Indians still lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 heading back to Cleveland.

Game 6 will be Tuesday at Progressive Field.


11:35 p.m.

The Cubs got Jason Heyward to third base but the Cubs couldn't bring him in for an insurance run.

Chapman is in to pitch the top of the ninth. Last chance for the Indians tonight. They trail 3-2.


11:20 p.m.

Rajai Davis reached third against Chapman in the top half of the eighth inning but the Indians couldn't cash in as the lefty closer struck out Francisco Lindor to end the threat.

The Cubs still lead 3-2 heading into the bottom of the eighth.


11:02 p.m.

The Cubs got runners on first and second but relief pitcher Cody Allen got the Cubs' Ben Zobrist to pop up to prevent the Cubs from playing add on in the seventh. Chicago still leads Cleveland 3-2.


10:45 p.m.

Cubs' reliever Carl Edwards replaced Lester and allowed the leadoff runner to reach second with no outs.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon brought in closer Aroldis Chapman to get out of the jam.

Indians still trail the Cubs 3-2 midway through seven.


10:27 p.m.

Cubs do nothing in their half of the sixth. Later innings coming up now and the Cubs still hold a 3-2 lead, fighting to extend the series to a sixth game.


10:16 p.m.

The Indians got one back when Francisco Lindor brought home Rajai Davis on an RBI single with two outs. The Indians trail the Cubs 3-2 after five and a half innings.


10:02 p.m.

The Cubs also get a runner to third, but relief pitcher Mike Clevinger gets a lineout to avoid a fourth run. cubs still lead 3-1 after five innings.


9:51 p.m.

The Indians get a man to third with one out but a strikeout and a groundout get Lester out of the jam and the Cubs keep their 3-1 lead after four and a half innings.


9:37 p.m.

The Cubs break through for three runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Kris Bryant homered before Anthony Rizzo doubled and later scored on an infield single.

Later in the inning, David Ross hit a sacrifice fly that brought home Ben Zobrist.

Cubs lead 3-1 after four full innings.


9:13 p.m.

Neither team generating much offense. Lester sets the Indians down in order again in the top of the fourth. 2-3-4 hitters coming up for the Cubs.


9:07 p.m.

Cubs go down quietly in order. Bauer has faced 10 batters through three full innings. Indians still lead 1-0.


9:00 p.m.

Lester sits the Indians down in order in the top of the 3rd. Cubs coming back up looking for any sustained offense since Game 2.


8:49 p.m.

Addison Russell singles with one out off Bauer, but back-to-back strikeouts avoid any trouble. 1-0 Indians after two full innings.


8:38 p.m.

Jose Ramirez hits a solo home run to left field and the Indians lead 1-0 midway through the 2nd inning.


8:31 p.m.

Bauer nearly matches Lester by striking out the first two hitters. No batters have reached base yet. 0-0 after one full inning.


8:23 p.m.

Cubs starter Jon Lester strikes out the side in the top of the 1st. Trevor Bauer taking the mound for the Indians.
