PLAYHOUSE Youth theater to present ‘Pinocchio’

The Youngstown Playhouse will present “Pinocchio” as the first production of its 2016-17 youth theater season.

The beloved children’s classic will play the main stage at 7 p.m. Friday and next Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 6. It is directed by David El’Hatton.

Carlo Collodi’s timeless tale of a little wooden boy who wanted to be real is adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller.

The Playhouse production features a cast of more than 20.

Jabril Jackson plays the title role, and Terry Shears is Gepetto. Lending support are AuBrey DeJacimo as “Hickory” Cricket, Sophia McHenry-Cameneti as the Blue Fairy, Hannah Boyle as Lucky Star and David McCune III as Lampwick.

Filling out the ensemble are Halina Bakeris, Lauren Bero, Sarah Bero, Audriana Brancker, Liam Corey, Owen Corey, Miah Dattilo, Kenny Day, Isabel Dutton, Savanah Dutton, Carly Frommelt, Maeve Law, Jacob Mays, Damon Perry, Julia Pickens, Olivia Pickens and Mikey Zoccali.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for children, students and current Youngstown Playhouse Flex Pass holders.
