Halloween events at Peter Allen Inn

KINSMAN

The Peter Allen Inn and Event Center, 8581 State St., will present two Halloween events Sunday – one for children and one for adults. For reservations for either, call 330-355-2100.

Halloween at Hogwarts with Professor McGonagall will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $5 per child, which includes snacks and supplies. Children (second grade and up) and adults are invited to join the Professor for a magical, interactive theatrical experience that guides them deep into the world created by J.K. Rowling. The Professor will teach students spells, guide them on a magical scavenger hunt, help them make wands and perform “Tales of Beedle the Bard.”

A dinner-theater production of “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” will begin at 6 p.m. Cost is $25 per person and includes dinner (beef entree). Local actor Carol Weakland performs this one-woman show about a widowed woman who moves to a seaside cottage and discovers it is haunted.

Mid-20th century sewing exhibition

WARREN

The Sutliff Museum has a new exhibit on display titled “A Stitch in Time: Early to Mid-20th Century Sewing and Crocheting.” It features two early Singer sewing machines, including a mini 20-10 Singer, 1940s women’s and children’s Simplicity patterns, early 20th century decorative scissors, and various how-to books on sewing and crocheting.

The exhibit will bring visitors back to a time when clothing was not disposable and making your own clothing was not just a hobby but how a family repaired and made new clothing to wear.

The Sutliff Museum is on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library at 444 Mahoning Ave. It is open from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For information, go to sutliffmuseum.org, or call 330-395-6575.
