Katrina Schubert recorded 41 assists while Alivia Oulton had 11 points and 10 kills for Mathews. St. John’s advances to the district final against on Lordstown on Thursday at Lakeview High School.

Jesse Dickinson scored both Rootstown goals with assists from Kayla Decker. Tara Backherms scored the goal for Newton Falls with an assist from Sydney Drake. Rootstown moves on to face Champion in the district final on Thursday.
Ursuline 2, Canton Central Catholic 1
YOUNGSTOWN
Jen Woodford and Taylor Tomlinson scored both goals for Ursuline assisted by Gigi Hitchcock. Katie Perretta had an unassisted goal for Canton Central Catholic. Ursuline moves on to play Cardinal Mooney in Thursday’s district final.

Caolyn Kay and Elizabeth Philibin both scored three goals. Breanna Evans chipped in with a goal and three assists. Mooney will be home against Ursuline on Thursday.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Boardman boys cross country team qualified for their regional meet by finishing fifth in the district meet last weekend at Trumbull Fairgrounds. There was a clerical error on the OHSAA website about the number of teams making it to the regional meet that will be Saturday at Boardman. The top five teams from the district meet qualified.
