Voice students at YSU in recital

YOUNGSTOWN

Misook Yun’s voice studio at Youngstown State University will present a free recital at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bliss Recital Hall, which is on the lower level of Bliss Hall.

Twelve students will perform works by Debussy, Vivaldi, Schubert, Mozart and others. Students in the voice studio are Olivia Kochunas, Jared Liscinsky, AnnaMaria Jadue, Sara Eckenrode, Brianna Crawford, Victoria Remley, Nicholas Hazelton, Anna Murcko, Katy Howells, Erika Walker, Rebecca Enlow and Francesca Molinaro.

Art show, sale

The members of the Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society will have an art show and sale at Wittenauer’s Cafe and Gallery, 122 S. Main St., Saturday through Nov. 26.

Youth choral group, organist in concert

YOUNGSTOWN

Organist Todd Wilson will perform with Illuminare, conducted by Jon Simsic, and Christopher Krummel on trumpet at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave.

Admission is free.

Wilson is the head of the organ department at the Cleveland Institute of Music; curator of the E.M. Skinner pipe organ at Saverance Hall, Cleveland; director of Music and Worship at Cleveland’s Trinity Cathedral; and house organist for the Stan Hywet Homes and Gardens, Akron.

Illuminare, the choral ensemble, was first known as the Salem Youth Chorus.

The group was founded in 2007 to provide teens and collegiate students in the greater Salem and Youngstown areas with the opportunity to sing choral music by compositional masters.
