Enon Valley man killed in accident

LISBON

A 46-year-old Enon Valley, Pa., man was killed when he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving after it went off the right side of state Route 14 in Unity Township in Columbiana County at 3:40 a.m. Sunday.

Killed was Bradley J. Riley, who was pronounced dead at the scene by a Columbiana County Coroner’s Office investigator.

Riley was not wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lisbon Post, which is investigating the crash.

Audobon Society schedules event

Audubon Society/Mahoning Valley invites the public to hear about new discoveries in natural history at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Canfield Library.

Jim McCormac of the Ohio Division of Wildlife will speak about newly discovered species and other revelations in the natural world.

Workshop targets autism, quality care

The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley is working with Ohio State University and its Center for Autism Services and Transition, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and the Mercy Health Foundation to improve the quality of health care for individuals affected by autism.

Parents and caregivers are invited to participate in a free workshop, Strategies for Successful Medical Care, in the conference room at the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, 1044 Belmont Ave.; offered at three times: 10 a.m. to noon or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 3 and from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 5.

Free parking is available. Child care is not provided.

Topics include how to develop autism-friendly health care; what autism-friendly care looks like and what patients and families should ask for; how to prepare an individual with autism for medical visits and procedures; and more.

Town-hall meeting planned at library

The Southside Neighbors will have a town-hall meeting from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Newport Library, 3730 Market St.
