Dr. Donna DeBlasio, professor of history and director of the applied history program at Youngstown State University, will be leading a workshop on the proper practices of oral history.

Oral history is the study and collection of historical accounts obtained through interviews of individuals.

Those attending will learn about the importance of having an oral history program, the proper methods and techniques in conducting interviews, and how to incorporate these interviews into exhibits.

The Toolbox Workshop is a one-year outreach program led by the Local History Corps District 4 representative through Ohio History Service Corps’ AmeriCorps program.

The programs are free and open to the public.
