Chamber promotes local shopping

COLUMBIANA

Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will host, ”Shop Small, Win Big” during the month of November.

Participants are encouraged to shop at local businesses in the 44408 ZIP code throughout the month of November, save receipts, complete the envelope provided and submit the envelope containing the receipts to the chamber office by noon Dec. 7.

Three prizes will be awarded: first place will receive $500, second will receive $250 and third will receive $100.

Winners will be determined by the largest number of receipts from businesses in 44408. In the case of a tie, winners will be randomly selected.

This contest is an effort to promote the Shop Small, Shop Local campaign created by American Express. Statistics show that shopping at local businesses directly benefits the residents of a community, keeps neighborhoods safe and stabilizes home values.

This is the second year the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce has hosted this contest.
