A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

Oct. 16

Attempted theft: Police received a complaint that two males had tried to enter a vehicle near Crumlin Avenue and North State Street.

Oct. 17

Disorderly conduct: A charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated was pending against a man, no information given, after an officer on routine patrol reported having seen someone collapsed and covered in feces in an alley off West Liberty Street.

Identity fraud: A Villa Place man found out his personal information had been used to set up an EZ-Pass account without authorization.

Oct. 18

Burglary: To an apartment in the 1000 block of Woodland Avenue through a kitchen door. Nothing appeared to have been stolen or damaged, however.

Recovered property: A woman said she found in a duffel bag the $6,000 she had reported stolen from her South Lorain Avenue home.

Menacing: A Lawrence Avenue girl alleged four juveniles came to her residence and tried to goad her into a fight before her mother threatened to call police. The four then fled.

Oct. 19

Stolen property: After responding to a report of a disabled vehicle near the state Route 711 connector, police determined the unoccupied pickup truck had been stolen from a Liberty Township woman’s landscaping company.

Menacing: Two Pittsburg Avenue women told officers a man who was upset and was walking down their street threatened them.

LIBERTY

Oct. 14

Arrest: Frank J. Perry, 27, was picked up at the Mahoning County jail. Perry, of Dearborn Street, Youngstown, was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court.

Identity theft: An East Montrose Street man and woman learned their personal information had been used to file fraudulent federal and state income-tax returns for 2010 in New York.

Arrest: After pulling her over near Hadley Avenue, officers took into custody 26-year-old Jordan R. Mascarella of Dotson Avenue, Youngstown. She was wanted on a Liberty warrant.

Oct. 15

Arrest: Authorities were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up 22-year-old Jesse D. Duby of Kroeck Avenue, Youngstown. Duby was wanted on a township warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Breaking and entering: A manager with Sam’s Pizza Shop, 4036 Belmont Ave., alleged a former employee likely had entered through the front door before stealing numerous food and other items.

Theft: A man found out a $1,000 horse saddle with a bridle was missing from his Logan Way residence.

Theft/criminal damaging: Someone broke into and damaged part of a vehicle in the 3300 block of Anderson-Morris Road, then removed two subwoofers.

Arrest: Erica Bunch of East Ravenwood Avenue, Youngstown, was taken into custody after having been pulled over in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue. Bunch, 47, was wanted on a township warrant and was charged with driving under suspension.

Theft: A man reported 40 video disks stolen from his Northgate Drive apartment.

Oct. 16

Breaking and entering: A woman returned to her Goldie Road residence and noticed someone had entered via a rear window. Stolen were two iPads, a laptop computer, a camera and a blood-pressure machine, for a $2,490 estimated loss.

Oct. 17

Arrest: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of Nova Gadola of West Main Street, Sharpsville, Pa., after police discovered the 36-year-old Gadola was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court, as well as on Pennsylvania warrants.

Theft: A Park Circle man discovered that while moving to Niles, several pieces of jewelry were missing as he unpacked his belongings. The loss came to $755.

Incident: A McDonald man reported his 7-year-old son, of Liberty, had told him that his former wife’s boyfriend was going to beat up the accuser.

Oct. 18

Assault: A Warren woman reported her granddaughter, 6, of Liberty, told her that about a week earlier, she had been held down and punched repeatedly.

Theft: A Youngstown woman discovered her $800 smartphone was gone after she had accidentally left it in a restroom at a Goldie Road big-box store.

Oct. 19

Arrest: Police responded to a report of a car in a ditch near Tibbetts-Wick Road before charging 19-year-old Noah S. Villwock of Howland Springs Road Southeast, Warren, with operating a vehicle impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia. A device commonly used to grind marijuana was found, a report showed.

Recovered property: A 2005 Ford F-250 pickup truck was found abandoned on state Route 711 after the owner of a Trumbull Avenue business had reported it stolen.

HUBBARD

Oct. 13

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Viola Avenue woman alleged her granddaughter had taken the accuser’s 2001 Chevrolet out of state without permission.

Oct. 14

Arrest: Brookfield police exchanged custody of 34-year-old Amber L. Laughlin with Hubbard authorities. Laughlin, of Roemer Boulevard, Farrell, Pa., was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Criminal mischief: A Moore Street woman discovered in her vinyl fence a small hole, possibly made with a BB.

Oct. 15

Arrest: Jackson Township police handed to Hubbard authorities 55-year-old Alfred D. Alston of Richmond Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a Hubbard warrant.

Oct. 16

Arrest: Officers received information about a possibly intoxicated person at a West Liberty Street convenience store before charging Gabriel R. Malave, 38, of Clay Street, Youngstown, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Oct. 17

Arrest: Weathersfield Township authorities handed 60-year-old Pasha Alamin to Hubbard police. Alamin, of Lansdowne Boulevard, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.
