Warren Township shooting death ruled homicide

WARREN

The Trumbull County Coroner’s office has ruled the Monday morning death of Mark Cleveland, 66, a homicide as a result of a gunshot wound to the leg that hit two major blood vessels.

Cleveland was hit by the gunfire at his house on Bain Street Southwest in Warren Township as he looked out a second-story bedroom window. No one else in the home was injured.

Dr. Humprey Germaniuk, county coroner, said Cleveland bled to death.

A granddaughter, 13, who was in the home told The Vindicator that her grandfather fell unconscious fairly soon after he was hit by the bullet. She said about nine people were in the home at the time, some sleeping, some awake.

Police reports indicate that a bright red or orange Chevy Trailblazer was involved in that shooting, a porch fire on North Park Avenue and gunfire at a house on Sweetbrier Street Northwest.

Cleveland’s death is the 10th homicide in Trumbull County this year, and the fourth in Warren Township.
