Five different players scored for Crestview (10-3-4) in an Austintown District playoff match-up. Scott Murray, Matt Nery, Mitchell Lindsay, Florian Kerz and Jeff Roberts scored for the Rebels. Luke Wickline added two assists, and Nery and Noah Horne had an assist each. Goalie Costen Santelmo notched six saves. Frankie Luke scored the goal for the Knights.

HOWLAND
Caleigh Hogan’s converted penalty was the game winner in the second half and Na’Pier Ramsey’s goal 11 minutes later sealed the win for Howland. Amarah Howard scored the first goal for the Tigers and Bailey Polinori equalized for West Branch before halftime.

Shelby Berend led Poland with six kills and Logan Kountz had eight service aces. The Bulldogs advance to play Salem in a sectional final on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at West Branch High School.

Cassie Murcko had 30 kills while Faith Grant added 12 in Howland’s five-set win that needed extra points in the final set to decide a winner. Julia Gray led the Tigers with 15 digs. Howland will play Hubbard in a sectional final on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Jefferson.

Carlie Angelo and Makayla Trebella sparked the Indians (12-11) to a sectional win. Angelo had 13 kills, 11 points (three aces) and Trebella had eight kills, 11 points and 20 digs. Melanie Bakes led Girard with 34 assists and added 16 digs and Natalie Pallone had 11 points, including three aces. Sydney Teter added five blocks and Lexi Crown had four. Girard plays Mentor Lake Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in a sectional final.

MacKenzie Daub had 12 kills and four blocks to lead the Rebels in a straight-set win in sectional play. Lana Adi led the way for Liberty with 17 digs and seven assists. Danielle Evans added five kills for the Leopards. Crestview advances to play Campbell in a sectional final Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Salem.
Newton Falls 25-25-25, Mineral Ridge 15-18-15

Top-seeded Newton Falls had few problems in their first-round win over Mineral Ridge in the postseason. Autumn Hutson had 24 digs while Izzy Kline had 12 kills and six blocks in the win. The Tigers will play LaBrae Thursday at 7 p.m. at LaBrae High School.

Bailey Drapola led Brookfield with 38 digs, 16 kills, and four blocks. Tori Sheehan chipped in 17 kills and seven blocks.

Hannah Brandenstein recorded 40 assists, 12 digs, six points, and four aces. Bonnie Flynn had 27 kills, 28, digs, eight points and three aces for Heartland Christian. Valley Christian was led by Maressa Davis with 13 digs and Daisjha Parks with three hit and three blocks. Heartland Christian will face St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday at Columbiana High School.

Caleigh Hamby had seven kills, 14 assists and four blocks in a four-set win. Julia Elia added eight kills. Newbury advances to play Lordstown on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Lakeview High School.
