Association makes recommendations

Judge Shirley J. Christian, a Republican incumbent Mahoning County Common Pleas Court judge, and her Democratic challenger in the Nov. 8 election, Anthony M. D’Apolito, are both rated as recommended by the county bar association based on an association membership poll.

The association does not endorse judicial candidates, but it rates them based on their legal knowledge, professional experience, judicial temperament, integrity, diligence and professional responsibility.

Judge Gene Donofrio, who is unopposed for re-election to the 7th District Court of Appeals, is highly recommended. Judge Theresa Dellick of the county juvenile court and Judge David A. D’Apolito of the county court, both unopposed for re-election, were rated as recommended.
