Amanda Fire and Scott Mate, both of Stow, Ohio, are engaged.

Their parents are announcing the engagement. Her parents are Daniel and Susan Fire of Leetonia, and his parents are Steve and Carolyn Mate of Stow.

The couple are planning a 5:30 p.m. wedding Nov. 12 at Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center, where a reception will follow. Invitations will be extended for both events.

The bride-elect graduated from Youngstown State University and is employed as a marketing specialist for Promethean Software Services Inc., Stow.

The future groom graduated from University of Akron and works as an engineer for GMP Friction Products.
