Victoria House residents try new technology
SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Residents of Victoria House Assisted Living Facility had the opportunity to try new technology from World Synergy in September as part of their National Assisted Living Week celebrations. The company presented a variety of products available as well as those being tested for future use. Some of the devices included UNI by MotionSavvy, a tool for the hearing impaired which uses speech and gestures to provide two-way communication, and Toyota’s Project BLAID, a wearable device for the visually impaired which alerts the wearer of his or her surroundings and possible dangers. Louise Kotouc, left, and Matilda Stefanick were among the residents who participated in the device showcase. Stefanick said she remembers old cars with rumble seats, all this new technology is flabbergasting.
