CEO schedules morning and evening meetings for parents

City schools CEO Krish Mohip plans more sessions to hear from parents and community members about the district.

Mohip’s Let’s Just Talk sessions run late afternoon and evening Wednesday through Oct. 26 at school buildings.

The chief executive officer also has scheduled morning coffee and conversation with parents Wednesday through Nov. 3. Those sessions will be in the morning at schools.

He wants to learn from parents and other community members about what they believe is working in the district and where they have concerns.

“I’m just kind of trying to get the pulse of their experience,” Mohip said.

Having sessions in both the morning and the evening allows more people to work a session into their schedule.

One thing he’s heard consistently since his late June arrival in the district is a frustration from parents that when they call a district department to raise a concern, their calls aren’t answered in a timely manner.

“I’m trying to find out why that’s happening and try to get it resolved,” Mohip said.

Thursday: 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., Chaney and Rayen Early College Middle School.

Friday: 8 to 9 a.m., Discovery at Kirkmere.

Oct. 24: 8 to 9 a.m., Youngstown Early College; 9:15 to 10:15, Harding Elementary School.

Oct. 25: 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., Williamson Elementary School.

Oct. 26: 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., Martin Luther King Elementary School.

Oct. 27: 8 to 9 a.m., Paul C. Bunn Elementary School.

Nov. 1: 8 to 9 a.m., Taft Elementary; 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., Programs of Promise at Wilson.

Nov. 3: 8 to 9 a.m., Discovery at Volney; 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., William Holmes McGuffey Elementary School.
