Greenbriar Healthcare Center hosted a cat adoption event on Sept. 17 for the residents and the public to come play with the cats and consider adopting one.
All of the cats are available for adoption through the Animal Charity of Ohio in Canfield. Several kittens were brought in along with two adult cats. People were able to stop by Greenbriar to look at the cats from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Many of the residents from Greenbriar came to play with the cats. One of the residents also filled out an application to adopt a kitten she felt a special bond with.
There were several people who showed up to play with the cats and get more information on adopting.
All of the cats brought to Greenbriar are in foster care so they aren’t seen as much as the ones who stay in the shelter. The first to arrive were five kittens who were all siblings, next was a mother cat who came with her three babies and finally Faith, an adult calico. There are currently 30-40 cats at the Animal Charity waiting to be adopted.
The Animal Charity of Ohio is running a special for cat adoption. Anyone looking to adopt more than one cat can get two adult cats for $80 or two kittens for $100, which includes a spay or neuter and the vaccinations.
