Incident at East
YOUNGSTOWN
There was a threat of violence this week at East High School, but CEO Krish Mohip said it was handled without having to evacuate the building.
Mohip sent an email Wednesday evening to district personnel. Threats at schools happen frequently but the district takes them seriously, the chief executive officer said.
“When we were made aware of this threat, our security engages our partners in law enforcement,” Mohip’s email said. “Together, we were able to identify the individuals responsible. Thanks to this swift action, we were able to keep our school open, our students learning and our East High School family safe.”
The suspected student hasn’t been charged.
