Valley Counseling ribbon cutting

BOARDMAN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. today for Valley Counseling Services, 5500 Market St., Suite 110. For more than 60 years, Valley Counseling Service, a nonprofit community mental health center, has served residents in Trumbull and Portage counties. The agency provides quality behavioral health care programs to all residents in need, from children to senior citizens.

Hospitality Industry update meeting set

The Boardman Civic Association will have a Hospitality Industry in Boardman update meeting Monday at the Lariccia Family Community Center, Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman Poland Road.

Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner starts at 6:30 and a presentation starts at 7.

Event speakers are Linda Macala, executive director of Mahoning County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau; Mike Moliterno, manager, Holiday Inn, Boardman; and Greg Kreiger, member, BCB Board of Directors of Boardman Community Baseball. Car Parts Warehouse ribbon cutting

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Car Parts Warehouse, 6315 Market St. at 10 a.m. Friday.

Team NEO receives $150,000 grant

Team NEO was awarded a Burton D. Morgan Foundation grant of $150,000 to support its work in developing Open Innovation Networks.

Team NEO is building regional innovation clusters in the areas of energy storage, smart devices and systems, and additive manufacturing.

Through the Open Innovation Networks, the organization matches larger driver industries companies to key supply chain partners made up of smaller, early stage and growth-oriented companies as well as research and academic institutions for business development through innovation of new products, markets, processes and business models.

Police: Boy made clown-related threat

CANTON

Police say a 12-year-old boy has been arrested after making a clown-related threat on social media to “shoot up” an Ohio school.

A statement from Perry Township police says they received a report Monday of the threat made through a Twitter account from someone referred to as “Frown the Clown” to “shoot up” a school within the Perry Local School District.
