Ohio AG DeWine to discuss heroin epidemic today

COLUMBUS

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and state Rep. Timothy Ginter, R-5th, will host a meeting today to discuss the heroin epidemic in Columbiana County.

DeWine and Ginter will meet with community members, law-enforcement officers, elected officials, and recovery and health care providers at 10 a.m. at the Columbiana County Government Services Building in Lisbon.

Man struck in head during robbery

WARREN

A man, 25, of Hamilton Street Southwest was hit in the head with a handgun during a robbery at 12:05 a.m. Sunday at his home.

A woman said two males kicked in the back door, and one of them fired a shot inside the home. They left in a blue sport utility vehicle or truck, she said.

Police investigate two shootings

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating two shooting incidents over the weekend in which no one was injured.

About 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a man told police he was taking a woman whose name he does not know to a house on Miller Street when someone fired several shots at his car. Reports said officers found eight bullet holes in his car.

About 4:10 a.m. Saturday, a woman in the 500 block of East Avondale Avenue said a man knocked on her door, motioned for her to get out of the way, then fired a shot at the home before running away.
