A medical examiner is investigating the death of an inmate in a suburban Cleveland jail over the weekend.
Authorities say Dmitriy Frunza died in the Parma City Jail on Sunday, a day after he arrived at the jail after being treated for an undisclosed condition at a Cleveland area hospital.
Cleveland.com reports that officials say Frunza was taken to the jail because of two misdemeanor warrants. He was held in an observation cell for 14 hours Saturday before he was moved to his own cell.
Police said he was found dead about 9 a.m. Sunday. The Cuyahoga County medical examiner is investigating. Foul play is not suspected.
