RECOGNIZED

The OH-PA Stateline Export Initiative that brings exporting awareness, foreign direct investment and supply chain matching to a 10-county region in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania recently received recognition from the International Economic Development Council.The IEDC, which serves economic developers, honored the initiative created by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and the Ohio Small Business Development Center Export Assistance Network at Youngstown State University with the Economic Development Silver Award in the category of Regionalism and Cross-Border Collaboration, Population greater than 500,000.

GRADUATED

Dr. Erik Johnson, has graduated from The Ohio State University, and will join Robert C. Johnson DDS, a general practice and family dentistry in Boardman.

PRESENTED

Hadi G. Chammas, P.E., of Poland, was recently presented with his professional engineering license at a statehouse ceremony hosted by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers. Chammas earned his master of science degree in civil engineering from Youngstown State University. Chammas is a civil engineer at North Point Engineering of Canton.

The Peter Allen Inn & Event Center, a Mahoning Valley elegant destination retreat in the farmlands of upper Trumbull County, has announced the appointment of Cynthia Vickers as it new food and beverage manager and house chef, overseeing all the food at the facility.

HIRED

The Home Savings and Loan Co. has hired Kathy Bushway for the position of director of marketing. Bushway will lead a team of marketing professionals in brand and marketing strategy, product management, media relations, public relations and communications.

AWARDED

Gerald King of Austintown, the General Motors Lordstown Assembly Complex senior environmental engineer, is the 2016 GM Global Rivers Environmental Education Network, GREEN, Mentor Award recipient for his outstanding leadership. This award is given annually to a GM employee that has gone above and beyond to support young people investigating and protecting their watersheds through GM GREEN.
