Heather Bland became the bride of Alexander Papiernik Aug. 12 at West End-Elliott Overlook. The Rev. John Dubos officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the LaFayette Room, LaFayette, Pa. The couple makes their home in Carnegie, Pa.

Robert and Marsha Bland of Youngstown are the parents of the bride, and Alex and Carla Papiernik of Mineral Ridge are the parents of the groom.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Youngstown State University. She works for WESCO Distribution Inc.

The groom earned an associate degree from ITT Institute in Youngstown. He is employed by Ideal Integrations and is a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.

The bride wore a candlelight A-line gown with cap sleeves and an illusion neckline. It was topped with a shear overlay adorned with intricate floral appliques.

Melissa Karman was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Dubos and Robin Pope, sister of the bride. Morgan Raines, the groom’s niece, was the flower girl. The attendants wore royal blue dresses.

Jordan Miller performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Nick Karman and Tony Meszaros. Henry Karman was the ring bearer.
