Family dinner honors Tabak anniversary

A family dinner Aug. 28 at Michael Alberini’s restaurant in Boardman honored Mr. and Mrs. John Tabak of Campbell for the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. It was hosted by their children.

The former Elaine Tadla and Mr. Tabak exchanged marriage vows Aug. 28, 1966, at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Struthers.

The family includes John and Lisa Tabak of Austintown and Michele and Mark Ackworth and Tammy and Bob Thomson, all of Hubbard. The Tabaks have six grandchildren, Ashley and Candace Ackworth, Brandon and Anthony Tabak and Brodie and Delaney Thomson.

The couple are members of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish.

Mrs. Tabak retired in 2011 from Eye Care Associates in Youngstown, where she worked in the insurance department. She is a pirogi worker and member of St. Joseph’s Cultural Society.

Her husband, who also retired in 2011, was a roller at Cold Metal Products in Youngstown, where he worked for 30 years. He is a volunteer with landscaping projects at St. Joseph Church. He also is a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
