Penn State 38, Maryland 14

Saquan Barkley ran for 202 yards, Trace McSorley threw a pair of touchdown passes and Penn State beat Maryland. McSorley accounted for 233 total yards, throwing for 152 and rushing for 81 as the Nittany Lions (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) had a season-high 524 total yards and snapped Maryland’s five game win streak. Penn State limited Maryland (4-1, 1-1) to 270 total yards, including 170 on the ground.
Brigham Young 31, Michigan State 14
EAST LANSING, MICH.
Jamaal Williams ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns, and Brigham Young beat Michigan State, sending the Spartans to their third straight loss. Taysom Hill ran for a touchdown and threw for another in the second half, and the Cougars (3-3) largely shut down the Spartans (2-3) after Michigan State scored a touchdown on its first drive. BYU trailed 7-3 at halftime but scored touchdowns on all four of its second-half possessions.
Iowa 14, Minnesota 7

Akrum Wadley broke off a 54-yard touchdown run with 5:28 left and Iowa hung on to beat Minnesota. Wadley had 14 carries for 107 yards for the Hawkeyes (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten), who matched the program record with their eighth straight road. Mitch Leidner completed 13 of 33 passes for 166 yards and was also picked off twice for the Gophers (3-2, 0-2), who were flagged for eight penalties for 58 yards and forced to punt nine times. After Wadley’s score, LeShun Daniels Jr., a Warren Harding graduate, ran in the 2-point conversion.
Purdue 34, Illinois 31
CHAMPAIGN, ILL.
Freshman kicker J.D. Dellinger hit a 28-yard field goal in overtime Saturday to lead Purdue to a road win over Illinois. Purdue (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) battered Illinois with a run game that piled up 231 yards, and relied on the run and a turnover to get the win in the first overtime. Illinois took the ball first but sophomore quarterback Chayce Crouch fumbled and Purdue safety Leroy Clark recovered.
No. 4 Michigan 78, Rutgers 0
PISCATAWAY, N.J.
Jabrill Peppers ran for a career-high two touchdowns and set up another score with a 63-yard scamper in his return to his native New Jersey and No. 4 Michigan routed Rutgers 78-0 Saturday night in a game in which the Scarlet Knights were limited to 22 yards total yards and two first downs.
