Join in remembering 1956 revolution

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown American-Hungarian Federation of Churches and Societies, a nonprofit organization composed of members from churches and groups in Mahoning and Trumbull counties and the Shenango Valley area, are hosting “Remembering 1956,” to honor the 60th anniversary of the revolution in Hungary.

A short service will be at 3 p.m. Oct. 23 at the 1956 Memorial Statue at the Franciscan Friary, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave. A buffet dinner will follow at 4:30 at St. George Croatian Hall, 3200 Vestal Road, for $15 per person. The menu includes chicken, roast beef, green beans, salad, potatoes and Hungarian pastries.

During the event there will be an opportunity to take part in a virtual dementia tour. This “patented” program “simulates the effects of aging and dementia.” Register to participate.
