1991: There won’t be as many large jack-o-lanterns in the Youngstown area this Halloween because of the drought that has slowed growth, but there’s an abundant supply of medium-sized pumpkins.
A newborn baby is found wrapped in a garbage bag in a sewer on Sycamore Street on Youngstown’s East Side. The 4-pound, 2-ounce girl is in guarded condition in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center.
