Charges added in sports memorabilia case

A Mahoning County grand jury issued new indictments Thursday in a sports memorabilia fraud case, charging a new defendant, while new charges were filed against two other defendants.
The new defendant is Craig Jason McCormick, 33, of Oakview Drive, Girard. The other two defendants who face new charges are Clifton J. Panezich, 30, of Henderson, Nev., and Jason E. Moore, 30, of Grove Street in West Farmington.
The three all face two counts of aggravated theft; three counts of telecommunications fraud; nine counts of forgery; three counts of money laundering; three counts of identity fraud; and a charge of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
The three, along with others who have already been sentenced, are accused of defrauding people by peddling and selling fake sports memorabilia between 2010 and 2015.
The investigation into the ring has been ongoing between Canfield police and the FBI for at least four years. The members of the enterprise are accused of selling fake autographs of sports personalities on the internet through eBay accounts. They would sell autographed pictures, balls or other types of memorabilia.

Shanika S. Simmons, 33, High Street Northwest, Warren, possession of cocaine and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ronald Aiosa, 49, Mount Vernon Avenue, burglary and receiving stolen property.
Brandon D. Wheeler, 30, Old Mercer Road, Volant, Pa., burglary and receiving stolen property.
Brandon M. Levine, 22, Old Mercer Road, Volant, Pa., burglary and receiving stolen property.
Christopher J. Faiola, 29, Lynn Avenue, receiving stolen property, possessing a drug-abuse instrument and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brittany Miller, 30, Cleveland Street, aggravated possession of drugs with forfeiture specifications, promoting prostitution, solicitation and possessing criminal tools.
Casey Torres, 31, Cleveland Street, aggravated possession of drugs with forfeiture specifications, promoting prostitution, solicitation and possessing criminal tools.
Joseph Yohn, 48, Lucretia Lane, Columbiana, possession of cocaine and possession of heroin with forfeiture specifications.
Jeffrey Brown, 24, East Lucius Avenue, being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying concealed weapons and obstructing official business.
