What: What is an invasive plant? And why do they have such a bad rap?

HUSTON BARNYARD CELEBRATION

When: Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

What: A family-friendly afternoon of activities at our historic Huston barn, including games and activities that Mr. Huston’s children would have played in the late 1800s, a hayride on the Nature Center property, simple snacks and farm animals.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Historic Barn, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Cost: Free

Art in the Garden

When: Oct. 12, 6-7:30 p.m.

What: Join the Trumbull County master gardener volunteers to learn about Art in the Garden. Their expansive display of plants and art will give you ideas for your own landscape.

PUMPKIN CARVING

When: Next Thursday, Oct. 14 and 15, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

What: Have fun helping to carve pumpkins for display at the Pumpkin Walk at Twilight on Oct. 16.

Where: Service building, Fellows Riverside Gardens

Cost: Free

Details: The service building may be chilly, so dress in warm layers. Carving tools will be available or bring your own. While pumpkin supplies last.

Birding the Sanctuary

When: Oct. 15, 8-9:30 a.m.

What: Jeff Harvey of Wild Birds Unlimited will lead this walk.

Where: Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, 2650 W. Calla Road.
